Mo Salah scores goals, nothing you didn’t already know. What was a little bit surprising was the rate in which he is scoring them. Fans of my generation will often talk about Fowler, Owen, Torres and Suarez – all great Liverpool strikers, no doubt about it. Mo Salah has already surpassed the last two and is chasing down the other two.
Let’s start with Premier League goals:
Player | Appearances | Goals | Ratio |
Mo Salah | 120 | 84 | 0.7 |
Fernando Torres | 102 | 65 | 0.637 |
Luis Suarez | 110 | 69 | 0.627 |
Michael Owen | 216 | 118 | 0.546 |
Sadio Mane | 139 | 67 | 0.482 |
Robbie Fowler | 266 | 128 | 0.481 |
As you can see, Goals Per Game Ration, Mo Salah is clearly in the lead. What was even more surprising was to see how well Sadio Mane was also doing.
It is when we start looking at the all time top goal scorer list is when you begin to realise the impact of Mo Salah and his achievements. Last night put him on the same goals scored as John Barnes (108) whilst playing 235 games less, an incredible achievement on it’s own.
All time top goal scorers list:

It’s feasible that Mo Salah could end the season in the Top 10 all time top Liverpool FC goal scorers. An achievement he would attain in 4 full seasons.
After finishing 5th last season in the Premier League top goalscorers it appears that Mo Salah is back to claim his crown. He currently sits in first place this season on 11 league goals.
The sky is the limit for Mo and his achievements.
